Moving with Purpose: Long before Jodi Pettit ever reached the finish line of her first marathon, she had reached the end of her rope with her rheumatoid arthritis (RA) diagnosis. The pain was fierce, widespread, and nothing like Jodi had ever felt before. She wanted nothing more than to just curl up on the couch in misery.
Sometimes it’s not one’s age that makes their accomplishment so impressive. As is often the case in triathlon, great stories can be found throughout the age-group ranks and Jodi Pettit’s battle with rheumatoid arthritis is certainly inspiring. In a few days, she’ll be competing in Ironman Arizona and there will undoubtedly be a lot of folks pulling for her.
Have a great race, Jodi!
