Tony Goodwin Claims Three Golds at World Masters Championships

Tony’s World Masters Championship hat-trick

SYDNEY swimmer Tony Goodwin is hitting his sporting peak at the tender age of 78 having claimed gold medals in all three breaststroke races at the World Masters Swimming Championships in Kazan, Russia, recently. The Manly Masters Swimming Club member has won gold medals in those races at three successive world masters championships taking his gold medal tally to nine.

Tony Goodwin started swimming as a teenager but didn’t get back into it until his mid 50s. He now has nine gold medals from three World Championships. He’ll move up to the 80-84 age group for the next championships and says “I’m going to keep on going for as long as I can.”
