Combining Hockey, Soccer, Cycling and Running
It’s not uncommon to hear about the benefits of cross training, but Tom Hartshorne, a 61-year-old athlete from Ithaca, NY incorporates ice hockey as well as some backwards running on a treadmill to his training regiment.
Apparently it works. Tom recently won the U.S. Masters 60-64 1,500 meters by 13 seconds and then went on to compete in the World Masters Track and Field Championships in Lyons, France last month.
I suspect he’s got a pretty good slap shot, as well.
