- Don’t run a marathon in January.
- Focus on short, intense workouts.
- Gain weight (on purpose).
- Swim. A lot.
- Hit the weights.
Kind of tough to argue with most of them. I think I’ll take a pass on number 3, however. Maybe if I ever feel like I’m down to my optimum “racing weight”, I’ll reconsider.
